James Aston

James Aston is currently subject leader for Screen at the University of Hull. He teaches on the Film Studies undergraduate programme including American Alternative Cinema, East Asian Cinema, and Global Nightmares: Contemporary Horror Cinema from Around the World. He has published numerous articles on horror film and is co-editor of To See the Saw Movies: Essays on Torture Porn and Post-9/11 Horror (McFarland, 2013). James is currently working on a monograph entitled Beyond Videodrome: Hardcore Horror in the 21st Century.
