Vanessa Nyarko is a PhD candidate at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. She is a critical media scholar with research interests in the moving image, cultural studies, media history and the political economy of media. Vanessa enjoys films from the Black diaspora but has an affinity toward post-independent West African cinema.
