Paul Williams is a recent graduate of the University of Alberta's Film and Media Studies Program based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where he was born and bred. His main areas of interest and research include Canadian Direct Cinema (especially the films of Colin Low), the films of Mohsen Makhmalbaf, and Native Canadian Documentary/Ethnographic Cinema, and he is a long-time devotee of the films of Alanis Obomsawin.
