Gang Gary Xu

Gang Gary Xu is Assistant Professor of Chinese, Comparative Literature, and Cinema Studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He has published several articles on Hou Hsiao-hsien, Zhang Yimou, and global cultural politics, and has a forthcoming book on transnational Chinese cinema. His current research interests include trans-East Asian cinema and the impact of neo-liberalism on Chinese cultural production and consumption.
