One of our aims is to realise and utilize the potential of an online journal to function in an international arena, to engage with an audience of international proportions and publish articles from around the globe.

In this second issue we have our first ‘international’ contributions: a fascinating portrait of Mexican video artist, Ximena Cuevas (who, as far as we know, has hitherto received no attention in Australia), an informed and insightful analysis of mise en scène in the films of Mel Brooks by UK writer, Brad Stevens, and a rigorous, Bordwellian interpretation of the Cuban classic, Memories of Underdevelopment by Washington writer, Allison Arnold Helminski.
