Sebastian Carrasco

The 2026 recipient of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) and Rotten Tomatoes Ruth Batchelor Award, Sebastian Carrasco is a dual-degree graduate of Latin American history and violin performance from Bard College in New York. He has spent the past seven years synthesising his profound love of cinema and academic interests into two parallel pursuits: co-hosting the film podcast Breaking the 180 and making short films with his production company, Self-Exiled Productions. Through these two ventures, Sebastian has dedicated himself to keeping the tradition of cultural criticism alive while also carrying those critical sensibilities into filmmaking.
